ITT helps you with a strong start to improve your English language skills at UCR with the assurance that once you have the required English language proficiency, you can move forward in your academic program at a partner community college, and establish eligibility to transfer to UCR. Upon acceptance to ITT, you receive a conditional letter of acceptance from a partner community college, and a letter from UCR for degree completion.

Who Can Attend

Admission Requirements


  • High school graduate

Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG)

Study at a California community college to quality for a guarantee of admission to UCR.

  • TOEFL and SAT tests are not required to transfer to UCR through this program.
  • You must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 while attending a community college to be eligible for TAG.

Immigration Information

  • This is a full-time program.
  • You must obtain F-1 (student) visa.

  • Offers three types of living arrangements: studio, single, or double

  • For adult students (age 18 or older) only.

  • Fully furnished room; double-occupancy
  • All meals and daily transportation (to/from school or school-related activities) included
  • Minimum age 14; no minimum stay

Students in INT 500, 600 or 700 levels may:

  • Choose from 5-6 specialty electives, based on availability (included in program tuition).
  • Take a university entrance test preparation course (additional fees may apply), such as:
    • IETLS Prep
    • TOEFL or TOEIC Prep
    • GRE/GMAT Prep
  • Enroll for a discounted UCR Extension class (additional fees apply).
  • Earn transferable UC credit.

You will be asked create an account and you will need to provide a valid email address, mailing address and other personal information.

Collect any required documents so you are prepared to upload them.

  • Agency/embassy/partner university information. (Only required if you have one.)
  • Copy of your passport photo page.

  • If you are applying as a transfer student from another U.S. institution on an F-1 visa, you must upload copies of your current I-20, the front and back of your I-94, and current F-1 visa stamp. Click to view transfer instructions and form.
  • If you are under 18 years old, have your parents complete the parental release form.
